Montgomery Police Charge Suspects In Weekend Homicides
(Feb. 6, 2012) -- The Montgomery Police
Department has arrested two local suspects in connection with two city
homicides, both of which occurred during the past weekend. Police
officers also are seeking additional suspects in one of the shooting
deaths.

MPD charged Justin McCall, 27, with murder
in connection with the city’s first homicide of 2012, the death of Garry
Blackwell, 46. Officers located Blackwell at about 4:15 a.m. Saturday,
Feb. 4, at a residence in the 100 block of North Haardt Drive. Blackwell
had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the
scene.
Following his arrest, McCall was
transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was
being held on a $60,000 bond.
MPD has secured murder warrants naming two
additional suspects in Blackwell’s death. Eric Johnson, 28, of
Letohatchee and Ellis Diggs, 27, of Montgomery are both being sought in
connection with this homicide. Police ask anyone with knowledge of
Diggs’ and Johnson’s whereabouts to contact MPD at 334.241.2651, Secret

Quashaun Brazery |
MPD also charged Quashaun Brazery, 26, in
the city’s second 2012 homicide, the death of Fernando Parks, 36. Police
located Parks with a gunshot wound to the head at approximately 8:40
p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in a motel room in the 400 block of Airbase
Boulevard. Parks was transported to Baptist Medical Center South, where
he was pronounced dead at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5.
Brazery was charged at 1 a.m. Feb. 6 on a
warrant for attempted murder initially sought by MPD, and the charge
subsequently was upgraded to murder. He was placed in the Montgomery
County Detention Facility, where he was being held under a $75,000 bond.
The investigations into both homicides are
continuing, and no further information is available at this time.
Note: A criminal charge is an accusation.
The defendants are assumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
