Montgomery Police Charge Two Brothers With Capital Murder in Shooting Death

(December 15, 2011) -- The Montgomery Police Department has arrested two
brothers in connection with the death of 23-year-old Quadaryl J. Smith,
who died as the result of multiple gunshot wounds Tuesday night, Dec.
13, in a Lynwood Drive apartment.
MPD charged Brazil L. Hart, 21, and Darnell A. Hart, 23, with one count
each of capital murder late Wednesday night, Dec. 14. Detectives
transported the brothers to the Montgomery County Detention Facility,
where both are being held without bond.
Police officers found Smith of Day Street Road unresponsive at the Lynwood
apartment shortly after 6 p.m. Dec. 13. MPD investigators developed
information that identified the Hart brothers as suspects.

The Harts were located and taken into custody Dec. 14 by members of the
U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, MPD Patrol and K9 officers.
The investigation indicates Smith, the city’s 30th homicide victim in
2011, was killed during a robbery.
No additional information is available in connection with this ongoing
investigation.
Note: A criminal charge is an accusation. The defendants are assumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty.
