CENTRAL ALABAMA CRIMESTOPPERS HONORS SEVEN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AT
ANNUAL AWARD LUNCHEON

CrimeStoppers recognized seven local Law Enforcement Officers at its annual
award luncheon Wednesday, October 29, 2008. The officers are:
- Sgt. Jeffrey Hassell, Prattville Police Department for his work in
arresting child sex offenders
- Sgt. Johnny Russell and Det. B.W. Atkins, Millbrook Police Department
for their work in solving the murder of Gloria Russell
- Deputy David Talley, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for his work
in capturing suspects of a Robbery and Double Murder at Kelley’s Grocery
- Cpl. Brett Oakes, Wetumpka Police Department for his work in a
dangerous domestic disturbance
- Cpl. Jason Brosius and Cpl. Mike Myrick, Montgomery Police Department
for their work in the investigation of a man and woman who were assaulted
in their driveway and the woman later died.. their work resulted in the
arrest of four people charged with capital murder
In addition to the above awards, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers gave an
award to BTW High School’s Law Magnet Program for their work in designing
“anti-snitch” posters for CrimeStoppers.
State Representative Barry Mask, District 31, was the keynote speaker.
The luncheon took place at Mann Wildlife Museum.
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is a nonprofit organization that assists
local law enforcement agencies in solving unsolved crimes by offering an
anonymous tip line and cash rewards. As of September 30, 2008 tips to the
anonymous crime reporting agency have solved 1,315 cases and paid more than
$46,000 in rewards. CACS serves four counties: Autauga, Elmore, Macon, and
