(January 12, 2012) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, a local
nonprofit organization that assists law enforcement in solving crimes,
recorded 97 arrests, paid $7,975 in reward money, and took in 362 tips
from the community in 2011. That is a 10 percent increase in arrests and

car was stolen from the Drury Inn Hotel in Montgomery, Alabama on Sunday
11-6-2011 between 1:00 am and 6:00 am. It is a 1987 Buick Regal Grand
National and is Black in color with a sun roof and polished wheels. It
has a personalized Indiana University car tag, CC 9024. It was disabled,
so it probably was trailered or towed If you know anything about

Expands Road Safety Camera Program to Deter Speeding, Increase Safety (November 16, 2011) -- The city of Montgomery is expanding
its road safety camera program by deploying state-of-the-art mobile
speed equipment to reduce speeds and increase safety in school zones,
construction zones and neighborhoods. The program features the latest
automated technology and equipment, which will be mounted in
black-and-white Montgomery Police Department patrol cars to deter
speeding in areas most vulnerable to the hazards of speeding motorists,

(August 31, 2011)-Prattville Police Department need help identifying and
locating a man and woman who walked away with an I-Pad from the
Prattville Walmart. The male pretends to purchase an $829.00 I-Pad and
as the cashier rings up the item the female grabs the bag and starts
toward the exit from the electronics dept. Meanwhile the male suspect
continues to swipe a credit card that won’t work. He then simply
proceeds to leave the store about thirty seconds behind her. Call

CrimeStoppers Now Bilingual (June 15, 2009) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has opened a new telephone
line that allows the area's growing number of Spanish-speaking residents to
report illegal activities in their own language. The 24-hour, toll-free
Spanish line started early last week to help law enforcement capture
suspects who either target the Hispanic population or commit crimes within
it, director Susan Moss said.The service fills a
big need, according to Anthony Ross, a marketing major at Auburn Montgomery
who is originally from Spain and who helped the Alabama Department of
