Rewards
for Unsolved Montgomery Murders
After consulting with the Montgomery Police Department, the District
Attorney’s Office requested rewards from the Governor’s Office for
information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killers in ten
unsolved murders. We have announced that a state reward of $5,000.00 as
well as a $5,000.00 reward from the City of Montgomery has been offered
in connection with each of these murders.

are always appreciated and needed on an ongoing basis. Donations to our reward
fund go to citizens who call our anonymous tip line with information that helps
law enforcement solve a case. Donations to our general fund and in kind
donations are needed for general office supplies, community education, crime
prevention, campus crimestopper programs, and to teach citizens personal safety.

Mediation Recognition Luncheon
(April 29, 2010) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers in partnership with US
Attorney’s Office Middle District of Alabama, Montgomery Public Schools, and
Alabama Crime Prevention Clearinghouse held a recognition lunch for 60
students who participated in a peer mediation program this school year.

CrimeStoppers Now Bilingual
(June 15, 2009) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has opened a new telephone
line that allows the area's growing number of Spanish-speaking residents to
report illegal activities in their own language. The 24-hour, toll-free
Spanish line started early last week to help law enforcement capture
suspects who either target the Hispanic population or commit crimes within
it, director Susan Moss said. The service fills a
big need, according to Anthony Ross, a marketing major at Auburn Montgomery
who is originally from Spain and who helped the Alabama Department of
Economic and Community Affairs promote the service.

of wanted fugitives. At last report, police arrested eight wanted
individuals, and over 50 other leads are being followed. The
round-up by viewer callers came after a WSFA Action Line. A report

Alabama CrimeStoppers Honors Seven Law Enforcement Officers
(Nov. 11, 2008) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers recognized seven
local Law Enforcement Officers at its annual award luncheon Wednesday,
October 29, 2008. In addition to the above awards, Central Alabama
CrimeStoppers gave an award to BTW High School’s Law Magnet Program for
their work in designing “anti-snitch” posters for CrimeStoppers. State
Representative Barry Mask, District 31, was the keynote speaker.

can leave a profound mark on our youth, school safety has become an
emotional issue that has shot to the forefront of national and local public
sentiment. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, along with Alabama State
University and Huntingdon College, are working together to create a safer

Alabama CrimeStoppers Celebrates 10 Years
(May 1, 2007) -- A small group of business leaders, law enforcement
officers, media, and concerned citizens held their first official meeting
for Montgomery Area CrimeStoppers (now known as Central Alabama
CrimeStoppers). Ten years to the date, May 7, 2007, a big celebration is
going to be held to commemorate 10 years of taking criminals off the streets
of Central Alabama.

(May 24, 2006) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has been awarded the
2006 Youth Crime Watch of America Crime Prevention Organization of the Year.
Youth Crime Watch is a youth led program that promotes anonymous crime
reporting and crime prevention in schools.
