This horse trailer was stolen from the Mid-South Electric building on U.S. 231 near Taylor Rd. Witnesses saw a tall white male, wearing a light jacket and ball cap in a white newer Chevrolet truck hooking up in between 9-10pm Sunday night, Feb. 12 and headed north toward Montgomery's Southern Bypass. A $3,000.00 reward is offered for return of this trailer, undamaged, no questions asked. Anyone with information, call us at 215-STOP.
Montgomery Police Charge Suspects In Weekend Homicides
The Montgomery Police Department has arrested two local suspects in connection with two city homicides, both of which occurred during the past weekend. Police officers also are seeking additional suspects in one of the shooting deaths.

CrimeStoppers Has Increase in Arrests, Tips and Rewards for 2011
(January 12, 2012) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, a local nonprofit organization that assists law enforcement in solving crimes, recorded 97 arrests, paid $7,975 in reward money, and took in 362 tips from the community in 2011. That is a 10 percent increase in arrests and 20 percent increase in tips and in rewards paid to anonymous tipsters.

(December 15, 2011) -- The Montgomery Police Department has arrested two brothers in connection with the death of 23-year-old Quadaryl J. Smith, who died as the result of multiple gunshot wounds Tuesday night, Dec. 13, in a Lynwood Drive apartment.

Montgomery Expands Road Safety Camera Program to Deter Speeding, Increase Safety
(November 16, 2011) -- The city of Montgomery is expanding its road safety camera program by deploying state-of-the-art mobile speed equipment to reduce speeds and increase safety in school zones, construction zones and neighborhoods. The program features the latest automated technology and equipment, which will be mounted in black-and-white Montgomery Police Department patrol cars to deter speeding in areas most vulnerable to the hazards of speeding motorists, according to Police Chief Kevin Murphy.

CrimeStoppers Now Bilingual
(June 15, 2009) -- Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has opened a new telephone line that allows the area's growing number of Spanish-speaking residents to report illegal activities in their own language. The 24-hour, toll-free Spanish line started early last week to help law enforcement capture suspects who either target the Hispanic population or commit crimes within it, director Susan Moss said. The service fills a big need, according to Anthony Ross, a marketing major at Auburn Montgomery who is originally from Spain and who helped the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs promote the service.

(May 1, 2007) -- A small group of business leaders, law enforcement officers, media, and concerned citizens held their first official meeting for Montgomery Area CrimeStoppers (now known as Central Alabama CrimeStoppers). Ten years to the date, May 7, 2007, a big celebration is going to be held to commemorate 10 years of taking criminals off the streets of Central Alabama.
